1929-1920: John Ralph Bazin
John Ralph Bazin
President of the Institution of Locomotive Engineers
Worked for the Great Northern Railway between 1897 and 1919 before moving to become Works Manager for the Great Southern and Western Railway (GS&WR) in Dublin in 1919. Bazin went on to become the Chief Mechanical Engineer for the GS&WR in 1921 and became the Chief Mechanical Engineer for the Great Southern Railways upon its formation in 1925.
