Blackfriars Bridge
The photos show the old bridge being demolished and the new rail and road bridges being constructed.
The bridge formed part of the Metropolitan Extension of the London, Chatham and Dover Railway. Designs to rebuild Blackfriars Bridge were submitted to the Corporation of the City of London in 1860-1861 and the foundations laid in May 1863.
