Transverse and longitudinal sections and a horizontal plan of a first class mail carriage. Scale 1/2 inch: 1 foot. Stamped 15 March 1907, original carriage c. 1839. One of three drawings of carriages used by the Birmingham and Gloucester Railway, absorbed by the Midland Railway Company in 1846, plus descriptive text on separate sheet. All bearing the stamp of the Carriage and Wagon Department, Superintendent's Office. Drawings engraved by Johnson (industrial illustrator), Cheltenham, from c. 1839 designs.
