Model of London North Eastern Railway 'Hush-Hush' locomotive no 10,000 and tender in wind tunnel, model is hung on wires and attached to a balance so that air resistance can be measured at winds speeds up to 70mph, National Physical Laboratory, Teddington. The object of the tests is to determine the power used on actual trains in overcoming air resistance and to explore methods by which this power can be reduced. The tests are being made for London Midland and Scottish Railway, 19 Jul 1932.
