Items of note include: building of Hall of Applied Science proposed by Charles Siemens; proposed House of Applied Science; proposed removal of models made by James Watt from South Kensington (Victoria & Albert Museum) and acquisition of drawings; investments in railways for example, Metropolitan Railway; and sending a Member to represent the Institution at Amsterdam exhibition.
