Items of note include: Report of the Building Committee enquiring into sites for a new Institution home, including negotiations to acquire 10 Victoria Chambers as London headquarters; investments in railways for example, Great Western Railway Company; a Committee was formed to discuss a joint London home with other engineering societies, findings were submitted to the Institution of Civil Engineers; Resolution on a new Constitution for the Institution; and a proposal to obtain a Royal Charter.
