With the War in its final year the lists of serving Members had expanded, other details such as passes of technical examinations related to the conflict are also noted. After the War (11 November 1918) ended thoughts turned to the re-employment of engineers returning from active service. Olive Monkhouse was the first women to present a paper at the Institution, it discussed women workers in factories and is abstracted here (read the paper online).
