Koninklijke Paketvaart Maatschappij (KPM)

In English, Royal Packet Navigation Company. KPM was Dutch shipping company (1888–1966) in the Netherlands East Indies, now Indonesia. It was the dominant inter-island shipping line in Indonesia during the last half century of the colonial era. KPM maintained connections between the islands of Indonesia

Photographs taken immediately after the bursting of the starboard main boiler on board KPM's s/s 'Pahud' at Belawan Sumatra, Singapore, at 11am on 19th April 1908. Also, a letter about the "unusual" occurrence from Wilfred Landstein to the IMechE dated 2nd May 1908, together with copy reply.
