Sculpture copying machinery

Photographs of Watt 's sculpture copying machine (eidograph), taken at Watt's residence, Heathfield Hall, Handsworth, later owned by George Tangye. Together with letters about the machinery, one explains the parts alongside a marked-up photograph, 7 Dec 1883 from William Prime Marshall to Walter Raleigh Browne. There is also a sketch of the valves.

Images show, exterior of the Hall, interior of the Hall's Watt Room, machine for facsimile reproductions of sculpture, Watt's lathe and vice-bench, tools, bust and bas-relief produced by sculpting machine and specimens of sculpting, reducing machine for sculpture, semi-rotary engine, folding wedges, intermittent engine counter and screen copying press.

A few are stamped, Tangley Limited, Birmingham.
