In 1964 Cherry Hill commenced work on her fourth model, the Merryweather "Fire King" self-propelled steam engine. Based on photographs of the original appliance built by Merryweather in c. 1905, Cherry also tested the functionality of the reversing gear by constructing a semi-replica of the Stuart 10V. The piece was completed in 1966 and was presented at the Model Engineers Exhibition, where Cherry was awarded a silver medal. Scale 1/16th and 0.75 inches to 1 foot; weight in case 5.5kg; measurements 10 5/8 x 5 x 6 3/16in Nameplate reads 'Merryweather' |
