Full Description The Law & Downie traction engine, designed by a Glaswegian firm of the same name, was the focus of Cherry Hill's 12th model. She began research in 1984 and started construction two years later. The piece is based on multiple sources, including photographs, an account published in Mechanics Magazine, Patent No. 357 of 1863, and historical notes. After 6,500 hours of work, Cherry completed the model in 1990. She received the Duke of Edinburgh Award for her efforts in 1993.
