Cherry Hill undertook research and design for her 17th model between 1996 and 1998. The original Isaac and Robert Blackburn Agricultural Engine was manufactured in 1857. Cherry made use of information published in Mechanics Magazine and The Engineer, as well as Patent Office records relating to Patent No. 414. The piece took 6,500 hours to complete, and earned Cherry the Duke of Edinburgh Award in 2007.
