The Wallis & Steevens "Advance" Road Roller Model is based on a 10-ton engine manufactured by the Basingstoke firm in 1936. To inform her design, Cherry Hill consulted the catalogue produced by the company for prospective customers, general arrangement and detailed drawings, and the original Roller No. 8100. She completed the model - her seventh - between 1975 and 1979 and was awarded the Bradbury Winter Trophy in 1980. Scale 1/16th and 0.75 inches to 1 foot; weight in case 11kg; measurements 12 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 7 5/16in Nameplate reads 'Wallis & Steevens, Advance, 10 Ton Steam Roller' |
